"As a family business of three generations, our belief is that fine jewellery should not only be beautifully crafted, but also stand for something good, with sustainability at the heart of this."
A Responsible Business
At Bradleys of York, our philosophy is to build a brand to be a force for good. We’re committed to reducing our impact on the planet, and we’re constantly looking for ways to become more sustainable across our supply chain. From the way we source our precious metals and diamonds to lowering our carbon footprint through local manufacturing, we are bound by a mission to operate in a socially responsible way at every step. Discover some of the ways in which Bradleys of York are working hard to create sustainable and responsible luxury jewellery and to help make a fairer industry for everyone.
Sustainable & Responsible Luxury
Bradleys of York has a zero-tolerance policy towards conflict diamonds. We are committed to ensuring that our diamonds come from ethical sources. Over the last 50 years we’re proud to have forged strong relationships with trusted suppliers who, like us, are committed to upholding the standards established by the Kimberley Process - an international system that ensures non-conflict diamonds from legitimate sources.
At Bradleys of York, we’re proud to use 100 percent recycled gold or platinum in many of our jewellery creations and use Fairtrade Gold by request.
Many of our engagement and wedding rings are hand built in our workshop and we only partner with the best locally based manufacturers. Not only does this guarantee true uniqueness and quality but it also reduces the environmental impact of long haul shipping. We are actively working to implement outer flat-pack packaging to further reduce our emissions on both storage and transportation.
We believe that you don’t always need to buy new jewellery. Many people have unworn items laying away gathering dust that simply need a fresh twist and some TLC. Our REINVENT initiative repurposes beloved items of jewellery, turning them into modern, current pieces, reusing as many different parts as possible. Our workshop has a zero waste policy. All our Gems are re-purposed, and gold is re-melted and recycled into something new and we use recyclable paper products and packaging certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
